Huntington man has role in independent sci-fi film

"Cheery Point," an independent science fiction film whose cast includes Huntington resident Mark Esch, will be shown on Saturday, March 9, at 5:30 p.m. at the Montpelier Civic Center.

The film is set in an alternate 2017 America where the government enforces administration of a drug. The lead character is kidnapped by a resistance group.

The film was shot mainly in Louisville, KY.

Esch plays Mr. Richards, the owner of a media company, in the film. He and several other cast members will hold a meet and greet session following the film.

The film is not rated, but producers warn that it contains action violence, suggestive content and some mild language.

For ticket information, call Jennifer Lorenzen at the Montpelier Civic Center at 765-728-2600.

The Civic Center is located at 339 S. Main St., Montpelier.
