Antiqology wins free rent for a year
Thursday, March 7, 2013 7:50 AM
Adam and Rebecca Hanson of Antiqology, currently located at 544 N. Jefferson St., are the winners of a year's free rent on a larger building just down the street.
The Huntington County Visitor and Convention Bureau owns the building adjoining its office and held the "Destination Downtown - Win Free Rent For a Year" contest to find a business to occupy the site. The contest was open to new and existing businesses that appeal to out-of-town visitors.
Tina Bobilya, executive director of the Huntington County Visitor Bureau, says shoppers have traveled more than 100 miles to visit the Hansons' retail store, which offers a mix of antique, vintage, handmade and repurposed items. The shop is outgrowing its current location, Bobilya says.
Antiqology was selected as the winner after finalists in the contest presented their business plans to the tourism board.
