Varsity Singers pick up two awards in finale

The Huntington North Varsity Singers won Best Vocals and second runner up overall at the Shelbyville High School Invitational on Saturday, March 16, concluding the group's competition season.

Nineteen schools competed for grand champion and Huntington North Varsity Singers was awarded second runner-up, behind Fairfield, OH, and Center Grove, from Indianapolis, grand champion.

Other schools competing included Pike, Lawrence Central, Bishop Luers, Batesville, Decatur Central, Bluffton, Triton Central and Columbia City.

The Varsity Singers will perform their award winning show at their Spring Choir Concert on May 17 at 7 p.m. at HNHS Auditorium. All other choirs, Concert Choir, Girls Glee and Viking Chorale will also perform.

Auditions for next years' group begin this week and continue through next week. Interested singers/- dancers are required to sing a song of their choice and learn and perform a short dance number.
