Deadline approaching for 4-H members to apply for 4-H award trips in summer

Local 4-H members in grades 7-12 have the opportunity to attend a variety of 4-H award trips this summer.

To be eligible for the trips, 4-H members need to fill out a 4-H awards trip application available online at www.ces.purdue.edu/huntington or by visiting the Huntington County Extension Office in the County Courthouse Annex, 354 N Jefferson St., Suite 202, Huntington.

Members in grades 7-9 have the opportunity to attend 4-H Round-Up at Purdue University from June 24-26.

Award trips available to 4-H members in high school include:

• Science Workshops at Purdue University from June 12-14.

• State Junior Leader Conference at the University of Indianapolis from June 18- 21.

• State Fair Youth Leadership at the Indiana State Fair from July 30 to Aug. 3.

Any youth in grades 9-12 can attend the State 4-H Band or State 4-H Chorus Workshop.  An award trip application needs to be completed for these trips also.

Youth ages 15 and older also have the opportunity to work at the Indiana State Fair as an exhibit hall worker. A separate application is required and is available on online or at the Huntington County Extension Office.

The 4-H Award Trip Application is due to the Extension Office no later than Monday, April 1.
