Andrews Town Council appoints ordinance officer at Monday meet

The Andrews Town Council appointed an ordinance officer during its Monday, March 25, meeting.

Utility Superintendent Colin Bullock will serve in the role and be responsible for reporting ordinance violations in the community to council.

Council also decided that the first letter sent to ordinance violators will be hand-delivered by an Andrews police officer while the second letter, should the need arise for one, will be delivered via certified mail.

In other business:

Council passed a motion for the purchase of a 60-inch monitor and laptop to be used in conjunction during meetings to display documents being viewed by council to the public.

Council passed Ordinance 2013-3, which amends the 2013 salary ordinance, Ordinance 2012-15, to reflect higher pay for the town's deputy marshal.

Councilman Ray Tackett shared that the Shepherd's Food Pantry in Andrews recently handed out 30 boxes of food that helped 105 individuals.
