Program on Community Garden to be feature of Seniors Lunch

The public is invited to the April 1 Seniors Lunch at Salamonie Interpretive Center, which will include a program on the Huntington Community Garden.

Stan Bippus, founder of the community garden project, will explain how the garden operates. The garden, also known as the Helping Hands garden, is maintained by volunteers, including Huntington North High School students, Huntington University students and numerous others.

The program kicks off with the meal at noon. The meat dish will be provided by Upper Wabash Interpretive Services (UWIS).

Attendees should bring a dish to share, their own table service and a $1 donation to help offset the cost of the provided meat dish.

Register by calling 468-2127 or by visiting the interpretive center, 3691 S. New Holland Rd., Andrews.

The center is in Lost Bridge West Recreation Area, off State Route 105, in western Huntington County.
