Huntington resident Hersey interns in Kosovo

Huntington resident Joy Hersey, a senior at Huntington University, traveled to Pristina, Kosovo, last fall as part of her PRIME internship through HU.

Hersey is a missions major, and the PRIME (Practical Research and Immersion for Ministry Effectiveness) program prepares students to enter the field of ministry after graduation.

Hersey is a former dance student at Fort Wayne Ballet and, while in Kosovo, taught two dance classes for children ages 7 to 11. Fort Wayne Ballet donated 50 leotards, 40 pairs of shoes and ballet posters for the class of 20 girls.

Hersey also taught classes in English, but used the dance classes as a ministry that allowed her to obtain permission to hand out Bibles to the students.
