Historical Society to hold meeting on May 15

The Huntington Historical Society will host its bi-monthly public meeting on Wednesday, May 15, at 7 p.m. at the Historical Museum.

The winners of the "Hoosier Heritage Art Show and Contest" will be announced at the meeting.

Mayor Brooks Fetters, along with members of the Historic Review Board and Huntington Alert, a local preservation group, will briefly present on their efforts within the county to conserve Huntington.

The main feature will be Leroy Rinehart, who will speak on the history, origins and impact of the four rail lines that ran through Huntington. Rinehart is a member of the Historical Society and key creator of the Huntington rail yard model at the museum.

Light refreshments will be served after the program.

The meeting is free and open to the public.
