ISP to offer ‘Respect for Law’ camp this summer

The Indiana State Police will offer a three-day "Respect for Law" camp for students entering the fifth and sixth grades.

Troopers and other officers will staff the camp and camp programs, which will include demonstrations by the Emergency Response Teams, Bomb Squads, Underwater Search and Rescue Teams and police dogs.

Dates and locations for the camp are:

• June 13-15 - University of Southern Indiana.

• June 20-22 - Hanover College.

• June 6-8 -Vincennes University.

• July 11-13 - Anderson University.

• June 27-29 - Notre Dame University.

In addition, "Lions Law Camp" will offer students entering the seventh and eighth grades a look at the criminal justice system. The four-day camp will offer a more advanced look at law enforcement through field trips, demonstrations and programs.

Dates and locations for the camp are:

• June 12-15 - Vincennes University.

• July 10-13 - Anderson University.

Also, "Career Camp" will be offered for high school students. Here, students will conduct their own crime scene investigation, learn from defense attorneys, judges and other experts in the criminal justice field.

Dates and locations for the camp are:

• July 7-12 - Vincennes University.

• July 14-19 - Trine University, Angola.
