Boys & Girls Club to serve free meals

The Boys & Girls Club of Huntington County will provide free breakfast and lunch to children this summer.

The program starts on June 3 and will last until Aug. 9.

The club will serve breakfast and lunch from Monday through Friday. Breakfast is served from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., while lunch is served from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m.

The club's food service program is an extension of the government funded Summer Food Service Program. Children age 18 and under may receive meals through SFSP and are not required to be members of the Boys & Girls Club to participate in the meal program.

A person 19 years of age and over who has a mental or physical disability (as determined by a state or local educational agency) and who participates during the school year in a public or private non-profit school program (established for the mentally or physically disabled) is also eligible to receive free meals.

Each meal meets the meal pattern requirements as mandated by the State. The USDA and the State of Indiana are equal opportunity providers and employers.
