Dementia information presented at recent Red Cross annual meeting

The Huntington County Chapter of the American Red Cross held its annual meeting on May 9 at Parkview Huntington Hospital.
Tim Allen, chairperson, welcomed those in attendance. A slate of board members presented by board member Jodi Kilty was approved. Volunteers who provide services to residents of Huntington County were recognized.
John Gibson, director of the Behavioral Health Center at Adams Memorial Hospital, presented a program on the different forms of dementia and advice on how to help dementia patients during a disaster. He was presented with a gift certificate donated by Huntington Nursery and Florist.
A cake was provided by Owen's grocery store.
Centerpieces donated by local businesses were awarded to those attending. The recipients and donors were Donna Trout, Tender Gardens Flowers and Gifts; Scott Amburgey, Town and Country Flowers and Gifts; Dean Rittenhouse, Terry Melone, Dale Gray and Dale Flora, perennials from Kmart; Jodi Kilty, Lynn Barkema, Tim Allen, Vickie and Brian Kirkpatrick, Connie and Terry Kline and Nancy Poulson, perennials from Walmart.
