Two from Warren display top skills at pool

Ralph Taylor, of Heritage Pointe in Warren, has earned his second consecutive championship trophy in the IAHSA pool tournament.

Taylor won the championship in the men's division, while Clara Mossburg, also of Heritage Pointe, was the runner-up in the women's division.

The tournament began at Heritage Pointe on May 6 and concluded at the Swiss Village Retirement Center, in Berne, on May 13. Thirty-nine men and nine women from Heritage Pointe, Swiss Village, Timbercrest Senior Living Community in North Manchester and The Townhouse of Fort Wayne competed in the tournament.

Heritage Pointe will display the traveling trophy for the year.

Players from Warren in the women's division included Phyllis Hubbartt, Clara Mossburg, Shirley Mounsey, Freddie Couch and Virginia Langdon.

The men's division from Warren was made up of Cloid Cloud, Norm Hiser, Don Ping, Dick Hinton, Floyd Blake, Larry Langdon, Robert Bevans, Elwood Karchner, Ralph Taylor, Dick Lintner, Kay Mounsey, Melvin Dooley, Gordon Smith, Bud Lee, Richard Bonham, Clarence Myers, Bill Couch, Carl Hubbartt,  Dick Garrison and Jim Slaughter.
