Church collects socks for local students
Monday, June 3, 2013 7:50 AM
Central Christian Church in Huntington will be conducting a sock drive to benefit youth preschool through high school in the community.
The church is attempting to collect 1,800 pairs of socks and has collaborated with another local church that will be holding a shoe drive to collect 600 pairs of shoes.
The goal is to collect all the socks by July 1 so they can be handed out prior to the start of the new school year.
Donations of new socks or money to purchase socks are being accepted. Sock sizes preschool through adult are acceptable in all different colors.
Donations can be dropped off at the church, located at 500 MacGahan St., Huntington. Checks made payable to the church should include "sock drive" on the memo line.
For more information, call the church office at 356-8154.
