Benefit for family of Tena Johnson on Oct. 10 to include golf, auction

A benefit for the family of the late Tena Johnson will be held Saturday, Oct. 10.

Activities will include a golf tournament at Norwood Golf Club and a hog roast and benefit auction in downtown Andrews.

Johnson died in a car crash on Sept. 2, leaving a 12-year-old daughter as well as an adult daughter behind. She lived in Andrews and worked at Miller's Pub in Andrews.

The Andrews Open, a four-man scramble, has a shotgun start at 11 a.m. The entry fee includes 18 holes of golf, a cart, skins, cash prizes and closest to the pin contest. It also includes the hog roast dinner and two drink tickets. Golfers should call the Norwood Pro Shop at 356-5929 to register.

The hog roast starts at 5 p.m. on Jefferson Street in Andrews, with the benefit auction getting under way at 6:30 .m. The evening will include a 50/50 drawing and a raffle. To benefit items for the auction, call Neal Snyder at 358-7923.

Tickets for the dinner and the 50/50 raffle may be purchased in advance at Miller's Pub, Kermit's or The Sports Bar, all in Andrews.
