Bendix to open own on-site health center
Wednesday, June 19, 2013 5:10 PM
Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems plans to open an on-site health care complex at its Huntington plant in September.
The health center will be operated in partnership with Marathon Health Inc. It will offer primary care, health assessments, health coaching and disease management to Bendix employees, their spouses and their children.
On-site clinicians can either serve as employee primary care physicians or coordinate with employees' current doctors.
Bendix currently offers an employee wellness program that includes weight management, physical activity, tobacco cessation, stress management and prevention and early detection.
Those and other health-oriented programs have created a healthier working environment, decreased absenteeism and improved employee productivity and health, Bendix officials say.
Bendix has operated a plant in Huntington for more than 30 years and employs more than 400 people.
