Bueker to serve as president of Roanoke Auxiliary

Roanoke American Legion Auxiliary Unit 160 elected new officers during its June meeting.

Leading the unit as president will be Linda Bueker, with Bev Swaim serving as vice president, Brenda Schulz-Hall as secretary, Pam Worrel as treasurer, Sheryl Hart as chaplain/historian and JoAnn Caulk as sergeant-at-arms.

The Executive Board will be made up of Swaim, Hart and Caulk.

In other news, the unit reported that in the past year members volunteered more than 1,000 hours for various community programs and events, collected more than $800 in poppy donations and voted to give $2,800 in education scholarships.

Auxiliary Unit 160 meets at 7 p.m. on the first Tuesday of every month at the Legion post, located at 1122 N. Main St., in Roanoke.
