Youth Services Bureau to again help with ‘Tools for Life’ supplies
Monday, July 8, 2013 8:12 AM
The Youth Services Bureau of Huntington County will once again be assisting with school supplies through the "Tools for Life" school supply program.
This is the 19th year for the program.
The program is open to anyone who is in need of assistance with school supplies.
Collection barrels are located at Beacon Credit Union, Teachers Credit Union, Walgreen's and Community Link. Donations can also be dropped off at the Youth Services Bureau's office during normal business hours.
Items dispersed include folders, crayons, glue, paper, pencils, pens, rulers, markers and basic school supplies.
The agency does not provide the gym shoes, tissues or specialty items such as scientific calculators, copy paper, etc.
There will be a limited number of backpacks but there may not be enough for every student.
To sign up for the program, call the office at 356-9681 or visit the office located at 1344 Maple Drive.
The summer office hours are Monday through Thursday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to noon. Those applying must provide the age of the child, the school they will be attending and grade they are enrolled in.
There is no cost for the program.
