Zesto fund-raiser for parasailing accident teens

The Zesto ice cream shop in Huntington will hold a fund-raiser on Wednesday, July 17, to help two Huntington County teens who were seriously injured in a parasailing accident on July 1 in Panama City, FL.

All profits from the sales at Zesto on July 17 will go to Sidney Good and Alexis Fairchild and their families, store owner Brandy Ness says. Zesto employees, who organized the event, have asked that their wages for the day also be donated to the families, Ness says.

In addition, Zesto is accepting donations now through the day of the benefit to pass on to the Good and Fairchild families.

Ness says several Zesto employees are friends with Good and Fairchild and wanted to do something to help.

"I am proud to see these young people take action and show such support for their peers," Ness says.

Zesto is located at 2830 N. Jefferson St., in Huntington. Hours are 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Fairchild, of Huntington, and Good, of Roanoke, were slammed into the side of a building after a tow rope connecting them to the boat broke while they were parasailing.

Both girls have been hospitalized in Panama City, FL. Fairchild was eleased from the Florida hospital to continue rehabilitation at an Indianapolis hospital, her father said. Good remains at Bay Medical Center/Sacred Heart in Panama City.
