Special Olympics craft show includes chair auction

Miami Tool and Die is sponsoring the Harvest Craft Show and Bake Sale to benefit Huntington County Special Olympics on Aug. 10 from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m.

The event will take place at Hier's Park in the Family Living Building.

Local vendors will be displaying and selling items ranging from knitted items, glass jewelry, baskets and scarves to leather items, American Girl Doll clothes, birdhouses and much more. Lunch will be available.

To complement the Harvest Craft Show, there will be a "Chair-ity Affair" chair decorating contest and auction.

Over 15 businesses, organizations, clubs and government agencies have entered "designer" chairs that each group has designed and decorated to represent the entrant's business, group or agency.

Chairs will be judged by attendees at the craft show. At 2 p.m., chairs will be awarded first, second and third place plaques.

Following the award presentations, all chairs will be auctioned off at the outdoor stage in Hier's Park. All auction proceeds will benefit Huntington County Special Olympics and the YMCA's Champions League.
