20 years for Taste of Roanoke on Saturday

Taste of Roanoke returns for its 20th year on Saturday, Aug. 17, offering samples of menu items from Roanoke area restaurants and organizations.

Food will be served from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Live music will be provided by Urban Legend with a mix of soul, R&B and rock from the 1960s through today.

Restaurants, non-profit organizations and civic groups will line Main Street in downtown Roanoke, cooking and serving their food. The evening's menu includes grilled tenderloin sandwiches, barbecued ribs, gumbo, Wagyu beef burgers, roasted chicken, corn on the cob, sloppy Joes, apple dumplings, pie, ice cream, gelato, smoothies and more.

There is no admission charge for the event and food items are priced individually.

Proceeds from the event go to the Roanoke Chamber of Commerce scholarship fund.
