Aussie company to open facility locally

Auger Torque USA, LLC, has announced plans to open a manufacturing facility in Huntington.

The Australian-owned company, which is headquartered in the United Kingdom, manufactures and distributes earthmoving attachments. This will be its first facility in the United States, according to an announcement from the Indiana Economic Development Commission.

Auger Torque plans to lease a 30,000-square-foot building at 100 Commerce Drive. The Huntington facility is expected to be operational by October, allowing the company to expand its market for trenching attachments and earth augers in the United States.

The company has already begun hiring welders, office personnel and sales associates.

Auger Torque has five other facilities in the United Kingdom, China, Australia and Germany.

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered Auger Torque USA up to $100,000 conditional tax credits and up to $50,000 in training grants, which may be claimed only after Hoosiers are hired by the company.

The city of Huntington approved additional incentives.
