HU to host blood drive on Sept. 11

Huntington University's Friesen Center for Volunteer Service will host a blood drive on Sept. 11 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the upper level of the Habecker Dining Commons on campus.

This will be the first of four scheduled blood drives for the 2013-14 academic year.

The Friesen Center hosts all blood drives each year in conjunction with the American Red Cross.

Individuals who donate or volunteer their time will be entered in a drawing to win prizes, courtesy of the American Red Cross.

The prizes include a $50 Visa gift card, and all volunteers and donors will receive a ticket for entry to the Haunted Cave event in October.

Individuals who are interested in donating blood may register online at www.givelife.org or in person in the dining commons at Huntington University.

Walk-ins are also acceptable, but everyone participating must have a photo ID. The blood drive is open to the public.

The Friesen Center is also asking for volunteers to help on the day of the drive.
