Roanoke benefit for trooper's child on Oct. 24

A benefit will be held Oct. 24 in Roanoke to help an Indiana state trooper whose daughter has brain cancer.

All of the money raised will go directly to the family of State Trooper Sean Swaim to help with expenses associated with his daughter Reagan's medulloblastoma, a form of brain cancer.

A hog roast will take place from 1 to 5:30 p.m., along with a silent auction.

Items in the auction include a Neon Armadillo pass for two to all national concerts in 2010, two Indianapolis 500 tickets for the 2010 race, a Jay Cutler autographed football and a two-person guided-pheasant hunt.

Shakin' Bake will host a benefit concert at 6 p.m.

The event will be held at the American Legion Post 160, located at 1122 N. Main St. in Roanoke.
