Christian colleges to meet prospective students at Oct. 3 event in Fort Wayne

High school students can meet with representatives of nearly 40 Christian colleges and universities from across the United States during a college fair on Oct. 3 in Fort Wayne.

The fair is sponsored by the North American Coalition for Christian Admission Professionals (NACCAP) and hosted by Huntington University. The event will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Emmanuel Community Church, 12222 W. Jefferson Blvd. (U.S.-24).

"This is a great opportunity to have a number of Christian colleges from all over the region and beyond come to one location and have their representatives available to prospective students and their families," says Chant Thompson, executive director of NACCAP. "The format for the fair is such that those in attendance may talk to whichever school or schools they choose."

Parents and students can attend sessions designed to inform them about the financial aid process. One session will be held at 6:45 p.m. with a second session at 7:45 p.m.

"The financial aid workshops available during the fair are held so that parents can pick up the latest information on making the whole college experience feasible and affordable," Thompson says. "This economy has people wondering how they can afford Christian higher education - this is a perfect time for them to ask questions and get the materials they need."
