Sheets Museum to host movie journey to Alaska

Sheets Wildlife Museum and Learning Center will have a movie day on Saturday, Feb. 8. The movie will start at 10:30 a.m. and will last approximately 75 minutes.

The movie will be a two-part film on Alaska. The first movie will be "Wild Alaska." It presents a visual portrait of wildlife on the last frontier. Shot in some of the most remote regions of Alaska, this program takes the viewer in close, into habitat and viewing areas rarely visited.

The second movie is "Alaska's Sea Life." The killer whale makes its way from the warm waters of Hawaii to the frigid waters of Alaska in its effort to store up food for the long winter.

There will be an easy quiz following with the top three youth receiving a gift certificate to be used in the museum gift shop.

The movie is free; however, there is a cost to take a tour of the museum. Seating is limited. Call 356-9453 to reserve a seat.
