Workshop for growers set for Feb. 19

A workshop will be held for crop growers from Huntington County and surrounding areas on Wednesday, Feb. 19. This session will be held from 9 a.m. to noon in Heritage Hall at Hier's Park in Huntington. Program registration will begin at 8:30 a.m.

This program will include the following topics:

• Using the Herbicide Site of Action Numbering System.

• Controlling Problematic Pigweeds in Indiana.

• Marestail - Why Can't We Figure This One Out?

• New "Nowledge" Regarding Nozzles.

• Pesticide Disposal-Clean Sweep Program.

Speakers for the program will be Bill Johnson and Travis Legleiter, Purdue Extension weed specialists, along with Ed Farris, a Purdue Extension educator in Huntington County.

This workshop has been approved as an Indiana Private Applicator Recertification Program. A fee is required for those who wish to obtain recertification credit for attending the program.

Attendees who wish to obtain credit are reminded to bring their Indiana Private Pesticide Applicator license number with them.

Continuing Certification Hours for Agricultural Pest Management Category 1 and Registered Technician Commercial Applicators as well as credits for Certified Crop Advisors have been requested.

Register for the program by calling the Huntington County Extension Office by Feb. 14. Lunch will be provided following the program.
