Quilters invited to submit entries for April show at Forks of the Wabas

The Historic Forks of the Wabash and the Piecemakers Quilt Club are seeking quilters who would like to participate in the 13th annual Quilt Show to be held in April. This is an opportunity for quilters to display their creativity and talents.

This year, there will be six categories: hand quilted, machine quilted, wall hangings and table runners, youth, juvenile and baby items and a miscellaneous category, which includes purses, place mats and jackets.

There are guidelines as to sizes on quilted items.
Wall hangings should be no more than 48 inches by 48 inches.

Sizes for the juvenile and baby quilts are no larger than 72 inches by 72 inches and for the hand and machine quilted category, no larger than 120 inches by 120 inches but no smaller than 80 inches by 80 inches.

Ages for the youth category are 8 years to 17 years old and they will be judged by themselves. Items for youth category should measure no larger than 105 inches and no smaller than 75 inches.

Each year there is a quilter's garage sale at the show. Prior to the show, donations of quilting items are accepted, such as scraps of material, quilting books or magazines and quilting tools that are no longer used or wanted. These things are the items sold at the quilter's garage sale and the proceeds go towards the next year's quilt show.

To participate, call the Forks of the Wabash at 356-1903 for information or to receive an application, or email Mary Tobin at jmt boss@sbcglobal.net for information or application.
