DeAnn Wohlgemuth used to be a paid staff member of the Youth Services Bureau of Huntington County.

For the past four years, she's been offering her talents to the YSB as a volunteer. That service has earned her the YSB's Adult Volunteer of the Year award for 2014. The honor was presented on Wednesday, Feb. 19, at the YSB office.

Wohlgemuth is a "vital volunteer," YSB Executive Director Jan Williams said. "Her assistance this year with the Tools for Life school supply program was crucial. She dropped everything to come when we had supplies and even assisted in helping pick up donations and seeking out stores to help us fill the requests."

This fall, the Youth Services Bureau provided 658 local students with school supplies required by their schools.

In addition to offering her help where needed at the YSB, Wohlgemuth has also participated in the YSB's host home program, opening her home to youth in crisis situations who need a temporary place to stay.
