Photo contest to be part of state Historic Preservation Month

The Division of Historic Preservation and Archeology, part of the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, is sponsoring a photo contest to celebrate Historic Preservation Month in May.

Photographers may take pictures of their favorite historic resources, which can include buildings, bridges, cemeteries and landscapes. The subject matter must be at least 50 years old and located in Indiana. There are no limits on the condition of the historic resource; it can range from pristine to undergoing demolition.

Photos can be color or black and white. The photos must be 8 by 10 inches and matted with white mat board so the final dimensions are 11 by 14 inches. There is no entry fee. Photographers can submit up to three entries per person.

The entry deadline is April 14.

A list of guidelines and a registration form is available online at dnr. IN.gov/historic/3994.htm.
