Writing workshops offered in Roanoke

The Roanoke Public Library presents interactive workshops by professional writers on the third Thursday of every month from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the library's Program Room.
Each session will include instructions and the opportunity to practice the unique techniques used by the professionals.
Upcoming workshops feature:
March 20 - Scriptwriting with Leilani Squires. Squires has her Master's Degree in script writing, mentors writers, worked with Jerry Jenkins at the Christian Writers Guild for many years, writes for Adventures in Odyssey, manages the writing department for a large marketing company and serves as an adjunct instructor in the Professional Writing Depart- ment at Taylor University.
April 17 - "How I Became an Amazon Bestseller and You Can Too." Self-published bestselling authors Michelle Weidenbenner, Karen Lenfestey and Doris Rapp form a panel to outline the steps to self-publishing success.
May 15 - Bestselling and award-winning author PeggySue Wells shares the secrets for crafting dynamic dialog.
