Monday, March 17, 2014 8:19 AM
The Parkview Boys & Girls Club of Huntington County recently received a donation from the Zahn family and First Federal Savings Bank of a combined gift of $115,000 toward the club's capital campaign fund.
The club's goal is to raise $3.5 million, which will be used to build a new facility to serve the youth of Huntington County. The club has already raised more than $3 million.
Michael Zahn, president and CEO of First Federal Savings Bank, states, "First Federal Savings Bank and the Zahn family are honored to have the opportunity to support the Boys & Girls Club Capital Campaign. This organization is dedicated to serving the youth of Huntington County. The impact Mandy and her staff make in the lives of these children is immeasurable and will have positive ramifications for years to come."
The new Boys & Girls Club will be located on East State Street and the old facility will be demolished. The club continues to receive pledges and donations on a weekly basis towards their campaign and plans to break ground in 2014.
Mandy Reber, Executive Director for the club states, "We are absolutely thrilled with the Zahn Family and First Federal Savings Bank's gift! We are so blessed to have their support to help improve the lives of Huntington's youth."
