HU honor society gets recognition at convention

Huntington University's Indiana Beta Chapter of Alpha Chi, an academic honors society, was recognized at the Alpha Chi National Convention held March 27 to March 29 in St. Louis, MO.

Eleven members and two sponsors attended the convention.

Daniel Binkoski, a senior from Whitmore Lake, MI, majoring in entrepreneurial small business management, business management and economics, and Will Stauffer, a senior from Churubusco majoring in communication studies, won disciplinary presentation prizes at the convention for their papers.

Bronwen Fetters, a sophomore from Huntington majoring in English writing and English literature, was elected as student representative from Region V to the Alpha Chi National Council. She will help plan next year's national convention.

The HU chapter was selected by Region V as its nominee for the Alpha Chi President's Cup to be given to the outstanding chapter in Alpha Chi in 2015. HU previously won this award in 2001.

The chapter was also recognized at the convention for being one of only four chapters out of more than 300 to receive the Alpha Chi Star Chapter award every year since its inception in 1996.
