Library, Extension office partner to present money management session

In celebration of April as Financial Literacy Month, Huntington City-Township Public Library and the Purdue Extension of Huntington County have partnered to present a free workshop on basic money management, "Budgeting 101," at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, April 21, at the Main Library, 255 W. Park Drive, Huntington.

Karen Hinshaw, extension educator, will lead participants in learning how to track family expenses, find "spending leaks" in their budget and develop a spending/savings plan. Additional topics will include planning for emergencies, future spending, and taking control of family finances.

No personal information need be shared at the event, and those who attend will also go home with a resource list of local agencies available to answer questions and assist them along the path to more effective money management.

Registration is recommended. Contact the library's Reference Department at 356-0824 or ask@huntingtonpub.lib.in.us to register.
