Street paving in northeast section of Huntington to begin on Nov. 16

Street paving in the northeast section of Huntington will begin on Monday, Nov. 16.

David Schoeff, the city's director of engineering, says streets that are scheduled to be paved are Division, Guilford, Madison, Canfield, Arthur, Freedom, Fruit and Wesley.

"Our goal is to get Division, Guilford and Madison completed before weather gets to a point that we cannot pave any more this year," Schoeff says. "If the weather cooperates, we are planning on completing all of them."

The entire project will take about a week, Schoeff says.
The streets will be closed to through traffic during that time, Schoeff says, asking that motorists avoid those areas.

"We will make sure that school buses can make their pick-ups and drop-offs for the day, but other traffic will be kept out until the paving crews are out of the area," Schoeff says.
