He is interested in an advanced degree in sports psychology and also in teaching and coaching youth.

While in college Baker has volunteered at both the Montgomery County Humane Society and Leadership Council.

In the community Sliger has volunteered with the Warren First Baptist Youth Group, at Woodlawn Cemetery, with 4-H and with Salamonie Active Men.

The Daugherty Family Fund was established in 2009 in honor of H.L. and Martha Daugherty to provide scholarships to employees, their children or Warren area students pursuing further education in agriculture.

The Daugherty Companies, founded in 1939, employs 22 people. Due to the technical nature of their business they see the need for advanced training through technical schools and colleges.
