Bethel United Methodist to celebrate 175 years Sunday

Bethel United Methodist Church, in Wabash County, will celebrate its 175th anniversary on Sunday, June 8.

The community is invited to attend the celebration, which begins with a morning service at 10 a.m., lunch at noon, and an afternoon service at 2 p.m.

The morning speaker, Rev. Larry Ray, and church member Lowell Ringell plan to ride mules to the morning service in the style of old-time circuit riders, arriving at the church at about 9:45 a.m.

Reservations are requested, but not required, for the noon meal and can be made by calling Rev. Randell Webb, pastor, at 568-4251; Ceolia Gray at 563-9281; or Carolyn Hegel at 782-2396. Reservations may also be emailed to chegel@omnic ityusa.com.

Those attending the lunch are asked to bring a covered dish. Pulled pork, chicken, drinks and tableware will be furnished.

The church is located at 2438N-650E, Lagro, near the Wabash-Huntington county line.
