Huntington resident Katrina Mitten will showcase her Native American bead work during Miami Indian Heritage Days on Saturday, Aug. 2, in Fort Wayne.
Mitten is a member of the Miami Tribe of Oklahoma. In her teens, she began learning the art of embroidery-style beadwork of the Great Lakes Native Americans by studying family heirlooms and museum collections as she practiced her craft.
The program will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Chief Richardville House, 5705 Bluffton Rd., Fort Wayne. Admission is charged and includes the opportunity to visit the Chief Richardville House.
