Walkers from 11 churches took part in the Huntington County CROP Hunger Walk on Sunday afternoon, Oct. 5.
Simultaneous three-mile walks took place in Huntington and Warren.

Proceeds from the Hunger Walk support Love INC and the Warren Food Pantry, as well as the hunger-fighting efforts of Church World Service.

The length of the walk represents the distance women in developing countries walk each day for water, an average of 3.6 miles.

Organizers of the walk say approximately 16,000 children around the world die each day from hunger-related causes.
Ingrid Smith served as coordinator of the Huntington County walk.
