Roanoke library to offer adult computer classes starting April 1

The Roanoke Public Library will offer computer classes for adults on Wednesdays beginning April 1.

Classes are limited to the first six who register. Classes build on each previous class, so students are encouraged to sign up and attend all six classes to receive the full benefit.

Classes are information with hands-on experience. Laptops are provided by the library for each student’s use during the class.

The instructor will be Library Director Celia Bandelier, who has been working with computers since the 1980s when she received a minor in computer science as part of her bachelor’s degree from Manchester College.

All classes will start at 4 p.m. and last about an hour to an hour and 45 minutes.

• April 1 – Computer Basics.

• April 8 – Introduction to Microsoft Windows 7.

• April 15 – Email Basics.

• April 22 – Introduction to the Internet.

• April 29 – Microsoft Word.

• May 6 – Microsoft Excel.

To register, call the library at 672-2989.
