4-H clubs set plans for geranium sales

The Best-N-All and We Raise ’Em 4-H clubs met on Feb. 19.

Following the pledge of allegiance and 4-H pledge, members answered roll call by responding to the question: What is your favorite sports team and why?

The newsletter was then reviewed, and Kalel Maul made a health and safety presentation.

Discussion was held on possible community service projects for this year, cleanup at the Knight-Bergman Center in April or May.

The clubs will sell geraniums again this year.  Plants are available in red, pink, white, and coral.  Orders must be placed at the Extension Office no later than March 31 and plants are scheduled for delivery at Hier’s Park on May 7.

The clubs are collecting pop tabs for Riley Children’s Hospital again this year.  The deadline for turning them in is July 1.

The bi-annual Huntington County 4-H Benefit Auction will be held March 14 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Heritage Hall in Hier’s Park.  A pork chop meal will be served.

For more information on ordering geraniums, contributing pop tabs or attending the auction, contact Machelle Suchcicki at 375-3130 or roehm@citznet.com.

The next club meeting is scheduled for March 19 at 7 p.m. at Warren United Church of Christ.
