Changes in Huntington County recycling sites are starting next week, Dec. 30

Beginning Dec. 30 the sites used for drop-off recycling in Huntington County will be undergoing changes.

The Huntington city drop-off locations at 2800 Walmart Drive and 220 S. Jefferson St. will no longer be active.
The drop-off site for all of Huntington will be moved to 515S-300W, at the City of Huntington Landfill, in the former Materials Recycling Facility.

Hours of operation at the site will be Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the first Saturday of each month, from 8 to 11:30 a.m.

The Andrews and Roanoke drop-offs will remain in the same locations at 450 Wabash St., in Andrews. and 9101 N. U.S.-24E, in Roanoke.

The Town of Warren will be adding a drop-off location at 316 W. 2nd St., the town Utility Garage. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Curbside recycling collection will continue to be offered in the Town of Markle.

The Huntington County Solid Waste Management District accepts the following materi-als for recycling at all drop-off sites and curbside collection in Huntington County:

• No. 1 and No. 2 plastics.
• Glass bottles.
• Aluminum cans.
• Steel/tin food cans.
• Paper and cardboard.
