Libraries plan new activities in May

The Huntington and Markle libraries will celebrate two special days in early May.

Star Wars Day is May 4 (a pun on the Star Wars quote “May the Fourth be with you”), and the Huntington and Markle libraries will celebrate with themed crafts at both locations.

Dressing as a favorite Star Wars character is encouraged for all library patrons, who can stop by any time from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. to make a Yoda origami or other Star Wars craft. It’s free to participate and open to all ages.

May 3 through 9 is Children’s Book Week, and both libraries are celebrating with events themed around the Dr. Seuss book “Wacky Wednesday.” From “Wacky” Wednesday, May 6 through “Freaky” Friday, May 8, kids of all ages are invited to stop by either location and see how many “wacky” things they can find around the Huntington Children’s Department or the Markle Library.

The Huntington library’s address is 255 W. Park Drive, Huntington; the Markle branch is located at 197 E. Morse St., Markle.
