Historic Forks dinner will include silent auction

A silent auction on Friday, May 1, at the Historic Forks of the Wabash will feature items ranging from candy baskets to autographs from top college coaches.

The candy basket will be crafted by The Party Shop.

Bidders can also vie for certificates entitling them to autographs from University of Notre Dame head coaches Muffit McGraw, women’s basketball; Michael Brey, men’s basketball; and Brian Kelly, football. The winning bidders must supply balls for the autographs.

Other auction items include a floral arrangement from Town & Country Florist, framed prints, gift certificates to three local eateries and jewelry from Silver Lily Design.

The evening includes a fish and chicken fry from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Discounted tickets are available in advance and full price tickets will be sold at the door.

Modern Woodmen, a fraternal financial organization, will match proceeds up to $2,500. The money raised will be used to teach the area’s history to elementary students.
