Bolinger’s Propane Service, in Warren, has been honored with the Governor’s Half Century Business Award. The award was presented Wednesday, April 22, by Gov. Mike Pence at the Indiana Statehouse, in Indianapolis.

“I’m honored to recognize these Hoosier-grown businesses that have created a strong and lasting impact not only on their communities but on the state of Indiana as a whole,” Pence says. “As our state continues to attract new companies, these well-established businesses will set the tone for a Hoosier economy dedicated to hard work, constant improvement and strong community roots. Their longevity is yet another example that Indiana is a state that works.”

“Bolinger’s Propane Service is now in its third generation of family ownership,” says Rep. Dan Leonard (R-Huntington). “I applaud the determination and hard work they have put in, in order to serve folks in our area for so many years.”

The Governor’s Century and Half Century Business Awards program honors Indiana businesses that have remained in operation for at least 100 or 50 years and have demonstrated a history of community service. More than 1,400 companies from across the state have been recognized during the 25-year history of the award.

Bolinger’s Propane Service was founded in Warren  in 1948 by Herb and Elizabeth Bolinger. Ownership of the business has been passed down to their children and grandchildren.

“Indiana’s overall success is due in large part to the success of its small businesses,” Leonard says. “I am pleased that Bolinger’s Propane Service is being recognized for their outstanding achievement.”
