Scott Canady is newest member of KBC board

Knight-Bergman Center board members met on Dec. 21.
President Shelly Boxell called the meeting to order.

Nine members were present, Denny Stroud, Bob Pond, Rosemary Zeller, Ned Trout, Ron and Bonnie Boxell, Sharon Gebhart, Janice Jordan and Mark Davis.

Members Jerry Boyer, Karen Herr and Ron Neff were not in attendance.

Scott Canady was a guest at the meeting.

Canady attended the meeting with an interest in joining the board after the resignation of Gerald Moreland.

Shelly Boxell asked Canady to submit a written application and, after discussion, a motion was made and seconded to accept him as a board member.

The board decided to remove a phone from the building.

The board discussed replacing a broken entry keypad for the building due to repeated triggering of the alarm system.

A report from the Boys and Girls Club was read.

A proposal from Larry Highland was accepted for work on the stage doors. The work needs to be completed by May for the alumni event.

It was reported that Jake Dillon was doing community service by helping with basketball games.

The board suggested installing a light fixture on the ground to help light the Class of 1958 flag. A new bulb was installed in the existing fixture.

Pond gave a report on the meeting with Design Collaborative Inc. After his report, the meeting was adjourned.

The board will meet again on Monday, Jan. 18, at 5:30 p.m., at the Knight-Bergman Center.
