Huntington County 4-H’er Kennidy Lauer won a pair of awards at the 2015 Indiana State Fair with her chester white gilt.

Lauer’s animal was first named champion chester white gilt. That made her eligible to make her first appearance in the Grand Drive, where she placed fourth overall among all gilts.

Lauer, the daughter of Tina and Chad Lauer, is a student at Manchester High School.

Although her family lives on the Wabash County side of the Wabash/Huntington county line road, she has been participating in the Huntington County 4-H program for six years, continuing a family tradition that began with her great-grandfather.
