Huntington City Board of Zoning Appeals to hear two requests Oct. 5

The Huntington City Board of  Zoning Appeals will field requests for two projects during its meeting tonight, Monday, Oct. 5.

The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. in City Council Chambers, located on the first floor of the City Building, 300 Cherry St., Huntington.

Partners 1st Federal Credit Union, 621 Cherry St., is seeking a pair of variances from front yard setbacks in order to place a pole sign on its property. Because the credit union is located on the corner of Cherry and Tipton streets, it needs variances from the five-foot minimum front yard setback on each street.

The credit union wants the BZA to cut the setback about in half.

Mitch Hansel, on behalf of Our Lady of Victory Missionary Sisters, is seeking a pair of special exceptions for the Victory Noll property at 1900 W. Park Drive. One special exception would allow a planned unit development on the property, and the second would allow construction of a rest home.
