Dogs and owners can get in the Halloween spirit

The Huntington Area Recreational Trails Association will hold a Bow Wow Costume Contest on Saturday, Oct. 31, at 4 p.m. at Schenkel Station, Huntington.

Contestants can dress themselves and/or their pooch. Door prizes will be given away, as well as prizes for the best dressed canine, best dressed owner-canine combo and other prizes. The group will then parade the sidewalks of the downtown area.

The contest is free. Popcorn and hot chocolate as well as cold beverages concessions will be available.

Schenkel Station is located at the corner of State and Jefferson streets in downtown Huntington.
