Gingerbread decorators

Ashton Pinkerton decorates the roof of his gingerbread house with miniature candy canes at the Huntington City-Township Public Library on Tuesday, Nov. 17. Teens were invited to the library to make gingerbread houses under the tutelage of Christy Thomson. Thomson baked the gingerbread walls and tops, a process that took 14 hours of oven time to accumulate enough pieces, and the teens used icing to cement their structures together and add candy shingles, doors, ornaments and landscaping.
