Terry Miller has filed as a candidate in the Republican primary for a seat on the Huntington County Council. He will seek to fill one of the three at-large seats that are up for election in 2016.

Miller has served the last eight years on the Huntington Township Board, acting as the board president in 2015. He also served as Republican state delegate in 2014.

In announcing his candidacy, Miller says that he looks at every issue with a “common sense conservative approach” to arrive at a conclusion.

Miller, a lifelong Huntington resident, is a member and treasurer of the Huntington City-Township Public Library board and is an assistant scoutmaster and board member for Troop 130 of Huntington.

He has been a coach for the Salvation Army Basketball League for 10 years and is an ambassador for the Huntington County Chamber of Commerce as well. He also coached PAL baseball and football.

Miller obtained an associate degree in industrial maintenance in 1993 and a Bachelor of Science in business management from Huntington University in 2010.
